Nexus 7 woes

vendredi 16 mai 2014

Yes, I know there's a tablet thread, but was kind of hoping for this not to get lost in there.

Had the original Nexus 7 tablet, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage etc. Worked like a dream at first, now completely unstable.

17 minutes to start up. Apps just don't work, get the error message "[app] is not working", constant freezes, chrome is next to useless in the time it takes, several occasions can't even turn it on.

Wondering if this is a hardware or software issue, have loaded over 200 apps, and wondering if the processor/system is not handling the amount of processes of this or if it's just the tablet not working. Clearing the cache of each application individually did work in speeding it up quite considerably, but in a couple of days or so, its back to being non-responsive again.

I "could" perform a factory reset, most stuff is in the cloud anyway. Have a smartphone with similar specs and that runs quickly so not sure if that is the solution and may be pointless.

So, do I bite the bullet and get the latest one (as it's double the processing power with better specs) or wait for the next incarnation (as I'm sure there will be) or is there any fixes for what's going on now.
