Tony dedicated his Barclay's Manager of the Month award to everyone at the club - players, backroom staff & fans:p
He knows it's going to be another tough game on Monday night but the extra couple of days will help the players with 'one or two knocks' to be ready in time. He admitted that the Palace line-up will be as close as possible to the one that has been so successful recently.
New signings are likely to be at the 'back end of the close season'.
We have two season-long loan opportunities and Tony said he 'will use them without a doubt', and he added 'I've already made certain enquiries about certain players in that respect, and we will see'.
He will be having a specific meeting with SP about next season as soon as these two games are out of the way. SP has already confirmed that Jules will be offered a new contract, but there are a number of players who are out of contract this summer and talk of new deals have firmly been put on the back-burner until the season is over.
One thing that seems clear is that while there will be players coming in, a number will be departing. If we are going to stay in this league, the quality of the squad has to be improved with players who are experienced and capable of performing to a high standard at this level.
We have only had back-to-back defeats just once under TP, and he has stressed the importance of finishing the season strongly. He said 'it's very important that we finish on a high - we owe it to the supporters'. Let's make it a really special atmosphere on Monday!
You can hear Tony on the Palace Radio website To view the link you have to Register or Login and on I-tunes NOW.
The game is Sold Out, but possibly worth trying the Box Office for any returns.
Thanks to all of you who listened or downloaded the interview I did with SP on Monday. That proved to be very successful and our website has been overwhelmed with hits:love:
