T20 Cricket, Flag Football, Squash, Lacrosse and Baseball/Softball have all been recommended for the Host Picks of Sports for the LA 2028 Olympics. Confirmation will be provided at the IOC Meeting next week in Mumbai.
Four Sports Parks are due to be rennovated or created ahead of the games across the City:
Downtown - BMO Stadium (Home of Los Angeles FC) will host football and athletics, Crypto.com Arena (formerly the Staples Center, home of the Kings, Lakers, Clippers and Sparks) will host Basketball, the Galen Center will host Badminton the LA Convention Center will host Basketball, Fencing, Taekwondo and Table Tennis while the Coliseum will host Athletics. A temporary structure at Dedeaux Field will host Swimming and Diving events.
Valley - Sepulveda Basin Park will host Canoe Slalom, Equestrian and Shooting events
South Bay - The Dignity Health Sports Park (formerly the StubHub Center, home of LA Galaxy) will host Rugby, Modern Pentathlon, Tennis, Hockey and Cycling across 4 different facilities.
Long Beach - Various facilities will host BMX, Water Polo, Triathlon, Open Water Swimming, Handball, Sailing, Rowing and Canoe Sprint
Away from the four main park areas other venues will include the SoFi Stadium, Kia Forum, Rose Bowl and the Honda Center.
