I couldn't see a thread on this but came across the news that Manchester City and Sony "building" a virtual Ethiad Stadium which in the future will allow fans from all over the world to watch their matches. Whether than pans out or not with TV rights etc... I don't know but that seems to be the end goal.

But with technology becoming a bigger part of the game I guess something like this was inevitable as a way of getting more money into clubs pockets.
