SEASON'S TURNING POINT ?

jeudi 3 mai 2018

Obviously when Roy was appointed and when players, especially Zaha, came back from injury, but is there a game or incident which helped turn the season ?
To possibly kick start it, what about the last few minutes of the home game against Watford ? In the first half we were awful, could have been 2 or 3 down, particularly when Deeney missed an open goal from two yards. For the first time since Roy had been in real control, we looked like a side playing Championship football at best, lacking confidence and control.
Generally we have not played like a side desperately battling relegation, -hoofing it anywhere- but that day, especially in the first half, we did.
It was turned around by a couple of bits of magic by Wilf right at the end and we dodged a bullet.
Obviously it wasn't just an upward path from then on but after the disappointing end to the Bournemouth game a few days before, it seemed to re-inforce the team's self belief.
Sure there are lots of other candidates - besides the two obvious ones mentioned at the start.
