I'm having a hardwood floor laid in parts of my first floor flat (roughly 44 square meters having hardwood).
With just the current floorboards, pre-hardwood floor, you can hear everything the neighbours downstairs are saying and smell whatever they cook for dinner. Will adding 9mm Ply under the hardwood floor stop the noise and smells?
Also, can you suggest how much it might cost to supply and lay the Ply - our builder is quoting us £900 just for the kitchen area - that seems a lot.
