Here's a little whimsy to start one ....
De Grasse is considered to be one of the (few) great French admirals (though not the best - that would be Suffren) - beat the Brits at the battle of Chesapeake bay, during the American war of independence. However, the Brits were without their best admiral George Rodney on that day.
Rodney rejoined the campaign and beat the French, capturing De Grasse, and sending him to London, where he helped negotiate the treaty of Paris to end hostilities.
In the latest Golden League meeting, there were three Canadians in the 200m, including Rodney and De Grasse. This time De Grasse won the race by a streak, Rodney didn't place. Looks a talent, this latest De Grasse. ;)
