I, like many on here have been a miserable and pessimistic soul over the last 10 days or so. I think its started somewhere in between Sakho going off injured and Erikssen smashing one in from 35 yards, and has continued throughout defeats to Burnley and Manchester City, whilst Swansea have picked up 4 points. I've been continually reading the "Relegation Avoidance Calculator" on here and studying the league table, unsure of what I'm expecting to discover as its all very simple; we must get something from Hull. That's all there is to it.
All of this collective blaming of Everton, Watford, Stoke etc for being on the beach already, All of our injuries, all of the dwelling on losing to Swansea twice, the late goals, the missed penalties, the failure to buy a left back, the hesitation in booting Pardew, the fear that Hull & Swansea are Bayern and Barca, the worry that Pulis will throw the last game, & that Spurs will too to get Wilf on the cheap; It's all pointless nonsense now.
We are where we are, and I for one would've given an arm and a bollock to be in this situation after we lost 4-0 at home to Sunderland. One game, one decent performance is all we need. We are not a bad side. We can do it. We can do it without Tomkins, Dann or Sakho. However it's up to us, the crowd to set the tone on Sunday- we cant be a colllective nervous wreck. Half the posts on here (including some of mine) come across like we are turning up to lose. It's ******* Hull. Let's man up a little bit and get behind the team and support the players. We have become a bunch of spineless moaners. Where is the spirit of Hillsborough and Stockport?? The Stadium of Light?? I thought our spirit was unbreakable? Let's get up for the fight and relish the battle!!
Truth is there's nothing to be afraid of anyway. Worst case we drop. Seven years ago we came close to evaporating into thin air. Now, if we do go, we should have every faith that the ownership have the knowledge, desire and finances to get us back up.
The atmosphere at Middlesborough turned our season- I firmly believe that. Another big push from the crowd and we can help roar the boys over the line!! Come on Palace!!
