here's my thoughts...
We buy at least 4 Premier league quality players not championship level including a central defender, left back, creative midfielder, big centre forward
we reduce the average age of the starting lineup/increase the energy and fitness levels
the squad is rotated more especially around times of fixture congestion
Alan's favourites are dropped/rested when out of form
the coaching is improved, bringing in some people outside of Alan's clique and possibly a director of football to challenge/advise him like Sir Steve
the tactics are improved including grinding out some draws sometimes instead of insisting on going "toe to toe"
Alan learns from his failed trials (Bolasie central striker etc) and mistakes
Alan realises his best ever job will be here and he will never manage England
