For some reason this thought occurred to me earlier and I am currently in two minds with regards to my opinion.
Could it be argued that Kevin Phillips, was perhaps our best ever loan signing? I thought he was superb for us and felt he should have been given more of a crack during our Prem season under Holloway, not just for his experience, but for his ability to grab a goal out of nothing.
He goes down in the history books as Crystal Palace's oldest ever hat-trick scorer, which I can't see being broken for a long, long time, if ever. And of course, nothing more needs to be said about 'that' penalty,
I know he only played around 30 games for us, but I'm not sure it's the amount of games you play that makes you a cult hero, or even a legend, but what you do in the time you are with the club.
What are other people's verdicts?
