I need advice!
We found a house we liked, and had an offer accepted on it.
As we weren't expecting to find somewhere we liked so quickly, our own house wasn't even on the market.
The estate agents of the house we want to buy, also want to sell our house.
They said if we sold our house through them, then they'd guarantee that the other house would be taken off the market for 4 weeks, with no viewings, off right move etc. Both my wife & I confirmed this on separate occasions.
On that basis we agreed to sell through them, even though there is a better placed agent to sell ours who we would have preferred to have sold through.
Now that we have signed the sales agreement, they are not going to remove the other house from right move, but just put off potential viewers for 4 weeks. We have it in writing that they won't show the house to any new people for 4 weeks.
So...
My question is, as they lied to get us to sign the sales agreement, are we in a position to get it annulled or something?
Does that constitute fraud on their part? A verbal agreement with two people?
We'd like to go to our preferred estate agent, but don't want the other agents trying to get the commission as well.
