What does the BBS think about adblockers? Who uses them and why?
I guess the protection racket comment relates to the practice of "whitelisting". Is this an acceptable practice? Should Adblocking software be banned?
And in the broader issue, what do we feel about paying for content on the internet? We're lucky that today the BBS is both ad free and free to use thanks to a number of benefactors. But would you use the site if it carried adverts or required a subscription fee?

Personally I use Adblocking software just to get rid of what I feel is an excessive amount of advertising on most sites. Advertising that burns up bandwidth I'm paying for and in many cases slows pages from being loaded.
