Anyone got any experience or expertise in this field?
I've damaged a rental van and agreed with the damage noted but clearly disputed liability on the grounds of procedural failings and the layout of the parking lot (damage occurred on site upon return of the van).
They want £4000 off me (despite me having a £500 excess). I accept some liability as I was driving but expect them to accept liability as they contributed to the damage.
However, they are unilaterally deciding that I am 100% to blame and have lined up their staff to lie about what happened. They have offered no right of mitigation nor appeal.
Any advice greatly appreciated (short of taking a shotgun down there which I've already considered).
