Arsenal’s mountain of injuries – could the Gulliver Theory be to blame?

mardi 1 décembre 2015

Following more injuries at Arsenal, the Gulliver Theory has been sounded out as a potential cause, In a nutshell, the theory is that smaller players who play intricate football have to stretch more and play to their limits in order to walk the ball into the net, thus putting themselves at more risk.

This is a compelling argument, and with Arsenal sitting second in the injury table, behind Bournemouth in first with 11 injuries, you can see the logic.

However, Swansea, also lauded for their ‘Arsenalesque’ style and approach, are bottom on the table, with no injuries in their squad.
