Excel help

I am currently working on a worksheet that will be exported onto a system, I have the first line of addresses in one column but I need to make sure the addresses do not go beyond 35 characters for the system, without having to go through 6,000 entries line by line is there a way to ‘cut’ the text in the column to equal 35 characters? I tried looking on google but don't think I am getting the excel 'language' correct :D
