Norton United, who reached the FA Cup first round earlier this season, are to close at the end of the campaign.
The eighth-tier club are opting to fold as they cannot afford to pay rent of up to £20,000 a season on their ground in Smallthorne, in the northern outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent.
Norton left the Norton Cricket Club & Miners Welfare Institute in December after a dispute with the ground owners.

Celtic Nation dream ends as club prepares to fold
Celtic Nation have resigned from the Northern League and will play their final game, at home to North Shields, on Tuesday April 28.

Runners-up in 2013-14 but already relegated from the first division this season, the Carlisle-based club will fold.

Subject to ratification by the annual league meeting, the upshot of Celtic Nation’s decision will be that Brandon United, the bottom club in the second division, will be saved from relegation.

I put both of these up because it's two very different stories that both end the same way.

Norton are a little club who dreamt just too big and after getting to the FA Cup 1st round this year for the first time ever it's curtains for them losing £1,000 a game with crowds of 50 - 60.

Celtic Nation were founded in 2004 they got funded by an Scottish Millionaire Businessman in 2012 who promised them glory, they got some ex-pros in and all was going well until he decided that the play thing wasn't working and pulled all of his funding in 2014, they started this season with 4 registered players and were relegated.
