Bought a car last February from a dealer which had a 3 month warranty. Within a month the head gasket went, the dealer asked me to take it down to the garage he uses to do the repair. In October I had the same symptoms so took it down to the garage again as it was under their year warranty but out of the dealers warranty. The garage tell me they suspect the fault is a slight crack in the gasket and as it is not the same fault as before I will have to pay for it. I suspect they did a cheap option in February to hopefully last until their warranty ran out. Proving it is hard and also how unlucky would it be for a head gasket to go followed by a crack in the head gasket 7-8 months later?
