As some of you know, last week my dad died suddenly. Coming a mere 8 months after the death of my mum, this has left me rather devastated and a bit numb. It has left my boss, however, feeling otherwise. I recieved this email after informing them that I was returning to the UK for the funeral and taking compassionate leave. The spelling mistakes are their own.
"Hi Pete,
Sorry to hear about your Father…and of course you will be ok for time off to go to the funeral but please be aware that September is our business month of the year…we have been exptement accommodating with time off this year so I think 9 days off in September is a little excessive.
Please do you best to consider the needs of the business ..
Once again, my condolences."
