David Goodwillie

vendredi 30 juin 2023

I did a quick search but couldn't see anything on this - apparently our former loanee and rapist David Goodwillie has decided to share 'his side of the story' which amounts to a 'but it's so unfair that the things that I have done continue to affect me'.

Barry Bannan, formerly of this parish has apparently supported him.

Worth remembering that Goodwillie went bankrupt rather than pay the damages to his victim following a civil case. Also worth remembering that we signed him after a lot of this and his previous criminal behaviour was in the public domain.

The Wuhan Lab

Listening to a Times (two-part) podcast today about the COVID - 19 virus.
Really recommended.

Pretty damning reports that it came from the lab, and was "manufactured" with the help of senior Scientific members of the PLA.

Man Defaces Colosseum

A video surfaced the other day of a man carving his and his girlfriends names into the wall of the colossuem in Rome.

They have now been identified and named as Ivan Dimitrov and Hayley Bracey from Bristol.

Rules are as follows

1 Every player has 200 points to bet with in the first round.

2 Each separate bet made is 10 points meaning players have 20 bets during the first 20 days. Maximum bet on a single market is 10 points, same rule applies for identical multis (basically no duplicate bets though you can do a team A, team B double on one bet and then add team C for a treble in another bet)

3 In the second round the 3* finalists all start by carrying forward 25% of their score from the first round added to the 150 points that can bet used in the second round. The person who qualifies for the final with the most points also gets an additional 10pt bet. (*if the number of participants gets to 7 or more, then a 4th finalist place will be added and then one more for every 5 players on top of that).

4 Betting Masters, first group stages runs from 0000 on the first of the month (standard UK time) to 2359hrs on the 20th of the month. Then the top four* posters come together in a mini league from there on until the end of the month.
Final bet settlement must occur before 2359 on the last day of the month.

5 Naturally the winner is the person with the highest score at the end of the last day of the month.

6 Scoring consists of total winnings and is inclusive of 10 point stake i.e. someone bets on a 6/4 horse and it wins their score becomes 25 (15 points profits plus the 10 pt stake) There is no score for any bets not used. Losing bets are scored as zero, not -10.
Any bet from an exchange bookie will have a 4% commission (on the winnings), if nothing else is explicitly stated in the post.

7 Players must quote where they're getting their prices.

8 Singles and upwards accepted.

9 For boxed multis and bets such as Yankees, each separate bet within the bet counts as separate and will cost 10pts per bet. e.g. ten trebles from five selections will use up 100 points.

10. E/W bets are counted as two bets in the masters, which means 10 points x 2

11. For tracking purposes, players are requested to put the outcome of their bets on the post for all events other than European soccer/tennis.

12. Where possible players are requested to put down a running total of their bets in their posts, although I'll also try and produce rolling league tables where possible.

13. After a bet has been posted up, one is not allowed to edit it..

14. The bets must be possible to do in real life, meaning for example that if you got a multi, all the odds have to come from 1 bookmaker. You can’t shop around for the highest odds and put them together. "Special promotion" type bets are not allowed though BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed) are.

15. Bets must be placed at odds of 1/10 (or 1.1 in decimal) or higher

16. Any Draw No Bet bets where the result is a push will always have the bet settled as void, never 10pts. Any asian handicap bet where the result is a push (in full) will have the bet settled as void. Any asian handicap where half of the stake is returned will be marked down as 5pts with the remainder of the Asian handicap settled as a win or a loss (this is applicable for asian handicaps such as 2.25 or -2, -2.5 etc)

17. In the event that a player is not sure if their bet will finish in time, before midnight on the 20th or midnight for qualifying midnight on the final day of the month for the final, they can make a provisional bet or bets which then become actual bets only if their original selection(s) finishes at 12.01am or after.

Émeutes Parisiennes

It is a bit weird here at the moment. I’m currently in Bercy trying to get back to Versailles. Traffic is totally ****ed. Half the trams have been shut because of the Olympics and because people are setting fire to them. Sirens everywhere. Looks like it will take well over two hours to go about 20kms. There’s a curfew from 9 in Clamart which is just down the road from where I normally work in Paris. Clamart is not really the sort of place you expect to see stuff like that happen.

It’s not a happy place at the moment. It feels like a tinderbox. After sunset is going to be interesting.

5 year contract cap agreed for FFP

mercredi 28 juin 2023

UEFA have just agreed to put in place a 5 year max contract length for FFP to stop the likes of Chelsea working their way through loopholes and giving players 7/8 years.

No shock that it won’t be backdated so all those players they have got on long contracts, FFP won’t come into it.

Can see that causing some backlash as hardly fair to clubs that don’t use loop holes to sign players.

Starting 11 Individual Value

Been thinking about what our current 11 would be valued at in todays transfer market.

If was to base it the most regular of the starting 11 what would you estimate each player to be worth?

Johnstone £15M
Mitchel £10M
Anderson £25M
Guehi £30M
Ward £3/5M
Schullp £5M
Doucoure £17M
Olise £40M
Eze £35M
Ayew £3M
Edouard £15M

So roughly about a £200M total. Not sure what it cost us to put those 11 players together but am guessing around half that? Maybe even £75m?

Zaha obvs on a free so not included in the above but if he wasn’t on a free and had a couple of years on a contract I would expect him to fetch £30M.

Feel bad not giving a mention to the likes of Guaita and Hughes who I reckon would bring in a combined £15M or so collectively. JPM I couldn’t see fetching more than £5M.

Don’t think I’ve missed anyone that’s a regular starter for us.

Looked for an RLC thread but was locked.

At £18M he’s got to be an upgrade on Sculpp even tho I’m a big fan of JS.

Failed 2020 takeover but FA still investigating

Breaking news tonight.

Seems a bit messy.

The FA have launched an investigation into director Rupinder Bains after Mail Sport revealed she worked for a Cayman Island-based firm involved in a failed takeover of Crystal Palace without their knowledge.

A consortium came close to buying the club in 2020 in an £185million deal brokered by the former prime minister of Malta, our investigation can expose.

FA board member Bains worked on the deal as a private lawyer, but did not disclose her involvement to English football’s governing body.

A spokesman on Monday night claimed the FA had no knowledge of the episode and were ‘deeply concerned’ before confirming they were investigating the circumstances of Bains’s involvement.

A consultancy used by prospective buyer Benjamin Leigh Hunt was given access to Palace’s accounts and senior directors, including chairman Steve Parish, in order to prepare a bid for the club, leaked documents reveal.

The businessman, whose crypto-currency firm, the London Football Exchange, was subject to a freezing order later in 2020 over suspected investment fraud, was working alongside Dr Wasay Bhatti, a Pakistani national. LFE folded shortly after the freezing order was made.

Dr Bhatti had involved former Malta PM Joseph Muscat in the deal and discussions had taken place about junior Maltese footballers gaining experience at the south London club should the takeover be successful.

Promises had also been made that there would be a partnership between the club and LFE if the deal went ahead. LFE boss at the time Jim Aylward, who was jailed for 22 months in 2010 for fraud and had previously served time for robbery and assault, is named as Leigh Hunt’s co-defendant in the freezing injunction against LFE at the High Court in 2020.

Due diligence was carried out on the club in August 2019 and the report, which has been leaked to Mail Sport, reveals the firm had access to information on key Palace personnel, including co-owner Parish.

Bains was brought into the deal in November 2019 in her capacity as managing director of law firm Pinder Reaux and was paid directly by Dr Bhatti to carry out further due diligence.

A source close to the deal said she may have been hired because of her position on the FA’s board, adding: ‘It would have given the deal an added layer of authenticity.’

There is no suggestion that Bains herself would have known about this possible purpose.

Emails seen by Mail Sport reveal Bains communicated directly with Parish about gaining further access to the club’s data in February 2020. Bains confirmed she had worked alongside Leigh Hunt, but did not think she had been obliged to disclose this.

Trip to Prudhoe for Billy Callander.

dimanche 25 juin 2023

I have been reading an online article that says some Palace fans intend to travel to Prudhoe to visit the grave of Billy Callender, the Palace goalkeeper who hanged himself at Selhurst Park for the 90th anniversary of his death.
Anyone on here know anything about it?

Discussion: If you had to lose one

Both are superb, both are on long contracts and most importantly they are a partnership. But if for reasons of finance we had to sell one which would it be, Andersen or Guehi?

And why?

It's only June but you have already won something

samedi 24 juin 2023

Wycombe fan here. Our forum decided to pass the boring part of the summer by having a 'Battle of the Badges' tournament, to find the best crest of the 92. We excluded ourselves (we don't think we have the best badge anyway, but it still could have affected early results). We had an elimination round, to vote for the worst badges in each division and get down to 64.

In the Group Stage, Palace won theirs with the largest percentage of any group winner at 68.52%, beating Notts County, Tottenham and Carlisle to qualify from Group C.

In the Round of 16, you met your old friends (ahem) Brighton, and it was a little how you would expect when an Eagle fights a Seagull...the biggest rout of any knockout matchup at 86.67% to 13.33.

In the Quarterfinals, Palace again won handily, beating Leyton Orient 64.71% to 35.29%.

In the Semifinals, Liverpool were up, and it was another rout of almost Brighton proportions, 78.26% to 21.74%.

The final was a sterling matchup with Blackburn Rovers and their famous red rose, and though they put up the best fight yet, it was again a decent margin of 60%-40%.

So well done Palace! A tiny group of Wycombe fans think your crest is the best of the 92. What do you think? Hopefully this is not the point where I find out you all hate it!

On Dis Ting!

Randomly thought of Ashley Robinson this morning and the whole “On This Ting” debacle with the Fulham trial.

15 years ago which is mental!

Can’t think of a more rapid decline under the circumstances.

Second Life

I went out on my bike on June 16th and then collapsed and went into cardiac arrest when I got home. Luckily the kids were around and called 111, but it took about 8 minutes of CPR and then one shock from a defibrillator to get my heart going again.

Obviously I was very very lucky to have this "second life". Has anyone else on here had an experience of having a second life/ chance like this?

TV streaming options

vendredi 23 juin 2023

Mrs is moaning that he firestick is slow.
This means it’s all my fault
I will happily pay £ to make the earache stop
What’s the best to buy Roku, firestick, google and iptv box?

Have to use WiFi but may be able to use Ethernet soon

bbc
C4
Prime
Now tv

Are the main apps

MUST be simple to use and set up. (Whenever I have tried to talk about my football service and an iptv box I’ve felt like and idiot as I simply hear but don’t understand the words. So I use my browsers on a laptop)

Any recommendations?

European U-21 Champioship

jeudi 22 juin 2023

Needs a thread of its own IMO.

It'll be interesting to see how England do and to check up on the promising talent around Europe.

Complete 2023/24 Calendar

Hello all, please find a URL Link to a Dropbox file that has the full run through of all Premier League, Championship, League 1 / 2, FA Cup, League Cup, EFL Trophy, Champions League, Europa League and Conference League for the 2023/24 Season.

If you would like any other Leagues or Competitions added (within reason, please don't be a d**k lol) give me a shout and I can add them.

Also, I haven't added it to the Spreadsheet but, the domestic season ends 1st June with the Champions League Final and the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany begins on Friday 14th June running until Sunday 14th July.

EFL Trophy 2023/24

mercredi 21 juin 2023

Draw is tomorrow (Thursday 22 June) on Sky Sports at 11.30am

Palace U21's will be placed into one of the following 8 (Southern) groups:

Group A
Forest Green Rovers
Shrewsbury Town
Walsall

Group B
Charlton Athletic
Crawley Town
Sutton United

Group C

AFC Wimbledon
Stevenage
Wycombe Wanderers

Group D
Cambridge United
Colchester United
Peterborough United

Group E
Gillingham
Leyton Orient
Portsmouth

Group F
Milton Keynes Dons
Northampton Town
Oxford United

Group G
Exeter City
Reading
Swindon Town

Group H

Bristol Rovers
Cheltenham Town
Newport County

Group B would be the most local and convenient, group A, F or H would probably be of most interesting to people wanting to 'tick off' grounds! :lux:

All Palace's fixtures are AWAY. Hopefully no clashes with 1st team games this season!

Match Ticket Information: Sheff Utd away - 12th August 2023 3pm

Might as well kick this off seeing as the fixtures have been announced and confirmed for this game.

Likely allocation, points required phases etc etc?

I thinking of doing a little tour around east coast of Scotland and coming down gradually finishing in Sheffield for the game before heading back to London on the Sunday.

I see there is already engineering works planned on the Sunday on way to London between Sheff and Notts ffs.

Won’t affect normal fans attending the game unless you’re thinking of staying over night.

Ian Wright - Palace relegation 1993

I have recently been dating an Arsenal fan. Ticks loads of the boxes except for of course, being an Arsenal fan.

She is was at the end of season game v Arsenal in 1993, and is adamant Ian Wright did not kiss the Arsenal badge, though he did celebrate scoring his goal, but that she believes he was deliberately missing sitters to try and help us.

I don't buy it, but I wasn't there.

Help me out lads, I always bought into the Ian Wright was a c**t for that game and only forgave him when he stuck up for Gary Linekar this year lol.

Aussie Palace Supporter Groups

I have a Palace mate of mine emigrating out to Australia in August to Brisbane.

Are there any Palace supporters groups out in that area I can put him in contact with, or if not in Australia in general?

And is there any Palace Aussie memorabilia I can get him in advance as a leaving present?

Thanks

Will heads explode if Lerma starts the pre-season games at Right Back?

Legit question. The consensus is usually "play them at their natural position". But I'm sure there's a contingent of "he'd do well there, let's give it a try".

Kiwis walk off.

Just seen on the morning news that the NZ team did not come out at half time in a friendly against Qatar. One of the kiwis was racially abused by a Qatari player which was reported and no action taken . So they stayed in their dressing room in solidarity.

A journey in the Championship.

dimanche 18 juin 2023

For anyone interested...........With the Championship fixture list coming out this week and the Stewards pre season briefing taking place the new season will be coming around soon so i had the idea of posting just how our season goes from a Leicester fans prespective a sort of on the ground reporting rather than the sanitised media rubbish........Theres a few games i have my eye on especially depending on dates notably Preston and Cardiff away where a couple of us have had invites for a piss up with the local lads away and there could possibly be more ......As for the team we'll have to see who we bring in and the word is we may get a couple of the young up and coming Man City lads on loan very soon but i personelly have no fear about scoring goals if Vardy and Ineacho lead the line ............10 days in the Canary Islands coming up then we'll get this post added to warts and all................

Redundant advice

Hoping the BBS might be a source of knowledge here before I delve further into google for help.

I’ve just been made redundant from my employer. I’ve only been there 18 months and it has come as a massive shock as the business was performing well. I believe the two MD’s have fallen out and one is going his separate way. The other is scaling back the business and has basically made all but a couple of people redundant.

I don’t believe I am entitled to any redundancy pay due to the length of time served. But I am not sure whether they need to give me a certain notice period, I’ll have to check my contract, however it’s not really worth the paper it’s written on.

I wouldn’t mind so much but I’ve just purchased a new property which is in need of renovation and have a wife and two year old to support, so if anyone has any work going in the Maidstone area I’m all ears!

Thanks all.

BBS Elevenses

jeudi 15 juin 2023

We are all missing our football fix.

I suspect the numpties that post suggested team and formation threads for the next game the minute the ref has blown FT are only now discovering what to do with their loose ends.

In the spirit of the 'good ship' I thought we could work out our very own BBS members elevenses.

This is meant to be jocular banter, so I am not intending to be mean with my first offering, and I will place a reason for inclusion and a cavaet or two.

You can choose your own eleven just like peeps do on the regular suggested team threads. Or you can start another BBS Themed Eleven.

Can't say fairer than that Guv.

The BBS Flouncers Farewell Eleven

TBF Most of these lot didn't say farewell. My cavaet is that most weren't flouncers, but do seem to have abandoned the good ship. Les Butler had made the team, but his post today was like Zaha injury himself in the pre-game warm up.

GK - Blind Eagle (replacing Les) - Need someone reliable and organised between the sticks.

RB - Lightweight - A position we've need to upgrade for a good number of years now. Chosen for apt username. Used to be very reliable at tricky away day fixtures.

CB - G23 - Original and King of The Flouncers. He Came, He Saw. He was made Mod, He Disappeared without trace.

CB - Benzhiyi - One good centre back is never enough if the other is Maguire. We can't level that accustion at the once reliable Ben.

LB - SPF - And what a wing back. Few a few seasons he flew up that wing and the opposition couldn't live with his speed. One of the best players in his position in the country. Some unfortunate comments on social media prevented an international call up and curtailed his career as the Club chose to usher him out the door quietly. There were some rumours that he was also banging the manager's missus.

DM - Selhurst Celtic - Another enforcer. Once infamously brought some snooker balls in a sock on to the field and was sent off before kick off. Regretably he was banned for the rest of the season and there is rumours that he might have served some jail time for it. Opinions are split on SC, some see him as a folk hero others feel that incident cost us relegation and are somewhat less fawning.

RM - little al - every team need a nasty little scrote, a Dennis Wise Or Lee Bowyer.

CM and Captain - Dave - Probably the greatest captain the side has ever had. At his pomp he pulled all the strings, Undervalued in the wider game but he really was our Zidane, our Pirlo.

LM - Psychokiller - GOAT every bit of magic comes from this lads feet. Every time he get the ball people rise to their feet in anticipation. Adored by his own fans and hated by opposition fans and the media. If he has a flaw then he is over argumentative which leads to bookings. He should just concentrate on what he does best.

For - Sunny Fan - Once upon a time he covered every blade of grass on the BBS. Like a manic cross between AJ and Gallagher. Poor decision making in front of goal gave him the unfortunate nickname of Barndoor. Mostly because he spent a lot of the time sitting on it.

For - Riccardo - Somewhat past his prime but a proved to be a perfect foil in two play off seasons scoring the only goal in both finals. One was a toe poke and the other a penalty. There is absolutely no truth to the rumour that he has ever used zebra crossing inappropriately.

Gordon McQueen - RIP

Not seen a lot about it but just read that Gordon McQueen died yesterday. Very good CB for Leeds and ManU.

Bruising but talented player. One of the best at attacking the ball into the box at either end. Took no prisoners. One of those players that suffered from dimentia that has described as linked to his heading of the ball. i.e. like Jeff Astle?

Cheapest supermarket for beer at the moment

Hi all,

Fundraising for King's College Hospital

mardi 13 juin 2023

Morning all,

I hope it's ok to post something like this on here and if not mods - apologies. I'm currently just over halfway through cycling from lands end to John O'Groats to raise money to improve the parents facilities for those with critically ill kids at Kings.

We're cycling around 100 miles each day and it's the hardest thing I've ever done physically on top of the anticipated fatigue it's so hot. Yesterday in south Lanarkshire the roads were actually sweating tar.

Today we've pushing on from Crawford in south Lanarkshire, through Glasgow and then around loch Lomond to crianlarich.

I'm doing this in memory of my daughter, Evelyn, who we unexpectedly lost at 11 days old in September 2021 - something I've discussed on another thread Since she died we've been with working with King's College Hospital Charity to look at ways to improve the facilities that parents of incredibly ill children use. We want to try to make sure that others like us, have somewhere comfortable and soothing to rest, cry and maybe just simply to survive, what will likely be the toughest hours and days of their lives.

We have been fundraising for just over a year now and have been blown away by the generosity of family, friends, colleagues and strangers who have already contributed almost £30,000 already - one you include bits others have raised too. We now know that if we could raise another £6,000, we would have enough to transform the three parents rooms in King's - which I can assure you will make a huge difference to those who have to walk the same dark path that my wife & I did in 2021.

I appreciate that many are feeling the squeeze at the moment and but - if you would like to contribute you can do so here: To view the link you have to Register or Login

Quite clear that their is no succession planning at our club

Only thing I can imagine is that it is a smokescreen to appease US share holders, or even Zaha’s stayed European ambition, as Roy is not seen as ambitious enough?

What has the UK got right?

dimanche 11 juin 2023

Just seeing all the doom and gloom on both the BJ/Tory and Stammer/Labour threads. Made me wonder what is better today than in the past. What has the government, both parties, done to make our lives better. I can create a HUGE list of things that are worse but came up with.

Rubbish collection. No more bin noise and rubbish strewn over the place.

Food costs and variety. Even with the huge increases its tsill a lot cheaper than the 70's/80s.

Flights/holidays abroad. We now expect this.

Telephone calls. Used to cost a fortune per minute, my dad developed this phone voice that was 100 words a second to save money, then would go mad when you ask him to repeat coz it was too fast. You can also pop to a shop grab a phone and be connected rather that waiting weeks.

Our advancement toward a green power. Not there yet but still far better than other similar countries which also leads me to air quality. I dont come back from london with black shit collars any more. I feel happy to sit outside and eat.

Yep a washing machine today is better than the one of 40 years ago but thats technology moving forward not government influenced. ( although i recon the old ones lasted longer ;-) )

Im sure there is more & I really struggle, but can list loads of "when I were a lad"

So what have the romans/government ever done for us over the last 50 years.

Reporting to the Police

samedi 10 juin 2023

I'm sad to say that I need to reach out to you guys on this matter.

I live in a house with 5 flats with a private, secluded, car park. Last night my car was vandalized and someone caused damage to the stairs hall and landing having dumped water in various places on the carpets.

To save the needless backstory and irrelevant commenting to my enquiry here, I cannot prove who it was but Occam's Razor dictates that I know who it was and why it was done and I don't have bad blood between me and anyone in particular. I'm just unfortunate to have my car vandalized as opposed to someone else's.

What I will say is that this is a warning to not take a certain person to court to recover money he owes us for not honouring the contract we have with him (i.e. otherwise worse things will happen).

...and my question is: does anyone know what is likely to happen when I file a report to the police - i.e. they will suss out that only one person has motive and, from what I've heard about this guy, he's got form, so will they make enquiries with him?

Returning to the UK.

jeudi 8 juin 2023

I have been told and it maybe wrong that if you have lived abroad for so many years ( searches suggest 2 years) that you need to obtain a visa and sponsorship to return to the UK.
My mother told me this because her friend told her that her daughter needed one to return from Australia where she apparently got citizenship along with British.
I've been out the country 15 years and never took citizenship just yearly visa extension renewals based on work. Not been back to the country since 2016.
Searches only come up with ' UK residents ' and people on ' indefinite leave to remain ' who have been out the country for more than 2 years. Nothing is clear and my head is in too much of a mess at the moment to understand things.
Does anyone know anything about this ? Is it a new thing ?

Palace points v 'Big Six' 2013/14 - 2022/23

An updated table showing points gained from the 'Big Six' in our ten seasons so far in the Premier League.

This season resulted in our lowest seasonal points total (three points from three draws).

It was great to earn points against Liverpool at last, after five pointless seasons, but the last five seasons against Chelea have all been fruitless.

Discussion: Clearout at Arsenal.

Would we be interestedin or able to afford any of these?

Lokonga possibly? Hard to tell since Roy didn't change (his winning) team so we hardly saw him.

As Arsenal look for powder to fire next season’s attack to winning honours, there’s a clearing of the decks: Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares, Cedric Soares, Charlie Patino, Auston Trusty, Marquinhos, Alex Runarsson, Folarin Balogun and Nicolas Pépé can all go. Only Marquinhos is expected to be loaned out. Balogun has both the Milan clubs as options.

From today's Guardian.

New Saudi power league... its happening. Thoughts?

Interested to hear other people's thoughts on this as it seems clear to me we are going to see some kind of Allstars league emerging over in Saudi Arabia.

Not too dissimilar to what was happening in China only a few years ago, only this time I think its gona stick.

First Ronaldo, now Benzema, talk of our very own Wilf joining the bandwagon, it just seem all so alien to me but I guess football is just money these days so I can't say I'm even that surprised.

Anyway, either way will be interesting to see what happens over the next 2-3 years in that respect, although if anything its made me even happier that we are going down this homegrown/grassroots path and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one

Malayan Emergency (1948-1960)

To view the link you have to Register or Login

Didn’t know until today that while attempting to crush the rebellions against colonialism the British army used head hunting as a method of oppression.

Also found the below shocking (I guess I shouldn’t given the general barbarity of colonialism and the propaganda around it that is firmly in place to this day).

Quote:

Despite the shocking imagery of the photographs of soldiers posing with decapitated heads in Malaya, the Daily Worker was the only British newspaper to publish them during the 20th century, and the photographs were virtually ignored by the mainstream British press.

Academy confirmed transfers / rumours

Thought I would start this rather then filling the academy thread with rumours.

Quote:

St Mirren want former Crystal Palace striker Robert Street - but they have been forced to pull their move to sign Kieron Bowie.

The Buddies are trying to sign frontman Street after his release from Palace.

The 21-year-old had a successful loan at Shrewsbury Town last season and that is where he came to the attention of Stephen Robinson’s recruitment team.

Street came through the Palace ranks but all his first-team came from loan spells, including Torquay and Newport.

I thought Street might get a new deal but they seem to think he's been released.

Minor issue but wonder if it's affecting everyone

samedi 3 juin 2023

Hi

For the most part I navigate to the User panel to see the latest updates to subscribed threads. Hvaing navigated to that page, read a few threads and then perhaps gone to another Chrome tab to do something else. When I come back and click on the chevron to access the latest post in a thread it just seems to hang. Doesn't matter how long I wait, it never loads. I have to reload the user page which will now show that same page as having been visited. So the only way to find the latest post is to select last page and scroll down.
Hope this makes sense.

Don't get this anywhere else - just on this site and on this section.

Anyone else and does it point at a problem?

Hi All,

Sadly my Dad passed away recently and has left 3 large plastic boxes full of Match Programmes dating from the 1960’s through to 2010’s.

To be honest, I love Palace but have no interest in them.

Thanks in advance for any guidance

Covid enquiry

IMHO i feel the Covid enquiry deserves its own thread expecially as reports emerging this evening seem to indicate that the government had what amounts to a censorship squad with the main aim to stiffle debate on the Pandemic and how best to tackle the threat of Covid.

While the Government led by Boris Johnston will be the main target, the other political parties and Science / health experts share responsibility in that there were very few MP's / experts questioning the Governments lock down approach. In fact there was pressure from some of the opposition & experts for tougher lockdowns. The majority of policies introduced by the Government were in the main accepted by Parliament without much question and no or very little debate.

Two questions need to be addressed 1. Did the government handle the Pandemic in a way that protected the country not just from Covid but from the economic and social fall out after the Pandemic. 2. Was democrocy and freedom protected during the Pandemic and what safeguards do we need to protect democracy and freedom of speech in future national emergencies.
