My one and only suit must be 15 years old if its a day and has padded shoulders and pleated fronts to the trousers. I look more like a limo driver in it than the man about town I am (joke!).
So, my question to the oracle that is this BBS, what does a 66-year-old man buy when it comes to a suit in 2021? One that he can wear to four weddings and a funeral (or at my age, four funerals and a wedding!). Not going to need it for business or work, so needs to be a bit more formal, I guess. Might even have to wear it to my own funeral!
I was thinking a charcoal grey, but everyone seems to be wearing navy/dark blue these days, but these seem more business/work orientated is that true?
Also, I dont want to look like Steve Parish and his drainpipe/shrank in the laundry look. Again, I think Im looking for a more relaxed fit, without looking like an extra from a 1980s Duran Duran video. I'm more Peter Crouch than Danny Young (Palace kit man) in the body shape, if that helps.
I guess a visit to the department store is in order.
