John Sewell - A mark of respect

dimanche 28 novembre 2021

I was very disappointed that no black arm bands were worn on Saturday. I can't think of any reason why they couldn't have been. This was a man who played a significant part in our club's history. I hope they will be worn in his memory against Leeds this week to make up for the omission

I was also disappointed, given his standing, that there was no minute's silencer for him. We've observed a minute's silence for players with no connection to Palace, so I am surprised that no-one saw fit to arrange one for the first player who lead us in the top division. I would like to think it was simply because nobody had time to organise this for Saturday, and it will be done at the next home game

I've opened a separate thread on this issue (to the one marking his death) in the hope that, if nothing is already in hand, someone from the club will see it and take the appropriate action
