Is That The Programme? The OMP book launches Friday 12 June

It's taken a long time but I'm happy to announce that the One More Point book "Is That The Programme?" launches on Friday 12 June

Will be strange to not do a book launch from a pub like Eagle Eye did back in 1993 - that was one of the appeals when I started writing this!

Overview

In “Is That The Programme?” One More Point’s editor/producer Cris Lehmann, tells the story of the excitement of the era and how Palace fanzine Eagle Eye in particular inspired him to play his own part in this terrace revolution.

There were no rules and regulations. Such fanzines were put together with scissors, glue sticks, pens and pencils – rather than the modern software. The final result was rarely slick, yet the content would have a life of its own, where boundaries were pushed, club chairmen and occasionally players would pull their hair out and a hardcore of fans would come back again and again for every issue.

Any profits made would invariably be put to good use in the pub, bookies or on match tickets and travel costs for the following week’s match.

In a time before the internet enabled rumours/information to spread in a matter of hours, the fanzines were often the way fans learnt of the comings and goings at the club. The book captures the fun, excitement, hassles, the stories and anecdotes and everything else that came with the role of being a fanzine editor back in the glory days of terrace culture.
