Curious what actually happens if a property is a total loss eg in a fire.
If its a freehold house, do you get the rebuilding value, then you hire an architect and a builder and rebuild it ? How much freedom do you have in design? If the exteriors the same, can you do what you want within reason inside?
What happens if you own a flat in a block? Can you compel the freeholder to rebuild exactly the same?
