How to save messages when changing phones?

I have an old fashioned phone Alcatel One touch and am in the process of moving over to an iPhone5s. The iPhone has a new sim and am going to keep and transfer my phone number from the Alcatel to it but am concerned I will lose the messages I want to keep when I do the transfer in a couple of days.
