Fly tipping

This is a problem even in beautiful Devon.

A combination of central government cuts to local authorities, and mis-management of waste policy by councils.

The cash stretched Tory council in my neck of the woods, decided to start charging for various categories of waste, in order to bring in revenue. We all knew it would end in tears, and sure enough, a huge increase in fly tipping followed, despoiling the countryside which the council then had to pay to clear up.

Bad for tourism, bad for council tax payers, and bad policy by myopic councillors.

On top of this, our local roads are in a dangerous state, full of deep pot holes, and important link roads between towns do not escape this neglect in the cause of saving cash, and are now causing damage to vehicles, and dangerous manouvers, with cars often swerving to the wrong side of the road.

Third world UK:(
