Had a new mate round tonight and he was gob smacked that our dog immediately left the room when food was brought out. He also couldn't believe the dog refused to jump onto the sofa when he invited her up or that she wouldn't enter a room in front of a human. And on and on. Why won't she go into a bedroom?, why won't she eat her food until told? Why does she stop eating if you tell her to!, why does she retrieve a treat when told to rather than eating it?
She's trained properly, that's why. (Boast mode set to full)
Still wouldn't trust her mind, she's a dog.
He's looking to buy a American/English bulldog* cross and was looking for advice. Apparently not letting the dog on the bed is cruel as he wants her to be "part of the family", and as such they should not only eat with you but eat the same food. Worst of all they both work in the food industry and are both out of the house some days for 11 hours with no opportunity to visit their hound.
Basically all advice was completely ignored...
My bet is it will soon be labelled as difficult and untrainable through absolutely no fault of the poor dog.
*looks a bit pit bull-esque tbh.
