Fitness

I firmly believe that the root of our problems, and in fact all for all of Pardew's teams is a lack of physical and mental fitness. i actually think other than that he is a good manager. He seems to be able to motivate his players well and his tactical issues are mainly due to desperately trying to fix bad runs.

His teams have excellent runs, like ours when he first arrived because he is generally a good manager, plus our team at the time had the benefit of a Pulis pre season, the confidence from the run covers up the deficiencies in fitness, but when things go wrong they don't have that stamina to fall back on to grind out results. Pardew then tries more and more bizarre things to try and turn the run around.

For this season we need to abandon the "transition" and just concentrate on being disciplined, with a rigid formation. Then in the close season we get in a modern day equivalent of John Harbin and get the team properly setup for next year. I think that would make us a top 8 team.
