Guus Hiddink (serious suggestion)

dimanche 20 novembre 2016

I know people will think this is a ridiculous suggestion, but I don't see why we couldn't pull it off. If we are going to pay the likes of Townsend, Cabaye, Mandanda and Benteke £60k plus p/w then shouldn't we have a top class manager to get the very best out of them? (and the rest of the team obviously)

He's managed (successfully) in the Premier league, lived and worked in London, and taken smaller nations further than they have ever been in the world cup before.

OK, he's 70 so he's not a long term option, but if we could get him for 2 years, he could establish us as a solid mid to top half of the table team. This would hopefully open the door to the new manager after him having a lot more proven track record of being a decent prospect to keep building the club, rather than us having to look to the likes of a Coleman or Warnock type.

Surely with the extra money you get these days for finishing a place higher up the table, it would make more sense to pay someone like Hiddink more than what we may be paying Pardew, is a no brainer if he has more potential to finish an extra 4-6 places higher up come the end of the season?

Who would have thought that Benitez would go to Newcastle as his next job after Real Madrid? If they can do it, why cant we?
