The JJ clan is heading back to the UK at the end of the year, and dates etc were booked around us having a home game, which in Swansea at the beginning of January we do.
I'm a gold member so could have got 4 tickets as it's a category B game, but nevertheless I had been speaking to Pam Groves who said I should call her if I had any difficulty. Except disaster then struck in two ways.
Firstly it was announced that to get a Manure ticket people also have to buy a Swansea ticket. Secondly I then had to go into hospital at very short notice on Monday this week to have surgery. So at 3am in the morning yesterday, unable to sleep after the op, I'm checking emails from my hospital bed when I see the disaster scenario - tickets ging on sale to Gold members on 1st November. So I called the club straight away, seeing as it was business hours there. Pam was unavailable but another very helpful person in the Memberships team took the call. I explained how I can't get in front of a computer until I'm home - which I now am - to buy the tickets online. So he went through with me where the 4 of us could sit, and reserved the tickets for me, which now I'm home I've been able to pay for. But without his help that might not have been possible if people were going bonkers for Manure tickets.
This means so much to me - my kids don't yet know I've got them tickets, and they've been unbelievably excited at the thought of going back to SP for only their second visit. They don't yet understand why, but the fact it's been moved to an evening game is even better, as games under the lights can often be a bit more special. I also get to sit back in the Arthur, not far from where my season ticket was before I swicthed to the new Holmesdale.
But the level of help I got is one of the reasons our club is so great and I wanted to call it out.
Just can't wait for the game!! :lux:
