Atmosphere

lundi 7 novembre 2016

I don't want to sound controversial or anything, but I want to have a discussion about the atmosphere (home and away games) without saying it's because of the manager, or because or the teams performance. There are plenty of other threads for that.

Let me deal my cards out - I was brought up on the premises of you get behind the team no matter what. Us palace fans are better then most at that - and when you see fickle arsenal or br***on fans you can hold your head up high and know you are made of better stock.

I certainly did last Saturday. Having got up at 4am, spending approx 100 pound in total for the day, I wasn't going to let a bad performance or bad tactics get in the way of my whole hearted vocal support behind the team. I never do. Problem is felt alone (certainly in my section of the crowd) in doing so. Apart from segments of the crowd this has happened at home matches as well.

In contrast the Burnley fans were going all match, getting behind the team even when we were getting back into it.

There are plenty for the team to think about and get back to, but if we are truly to call ourselves the best fans, whether you are pardew out, a pardew in, a shake it all about, a pro/against whatever, park it for 90 minutes and lets ALL be vocal, and particularly against city.

Sorry to those around me at Burnley who I started picking arguments with. It was out of character and it was the tiredness, drink and yes the frustration playing out a bit.
