Travel to Wembley Saturday 21st May

The end of the potential 24 hour strike on 20th May by Southern Trains conductors on longer distance trains is not expected to affect later services and this should not affect local trains.

Trains to London Bridge and Victoria are expected to be extremely busy with queues at ticket offices and ticket machines (cash and card), especially East Croydon. Tickets can be purchased a day in advance from ticket offices and London Overground station ticket machines (cash and card). Adult Day Travelcards can also be purchased on the day from ticket machines at tram stops (cash only) but you cannot buy these at Oyster shops. The Day Travelcard adult fare is £12.10 for zones 1-6 via Central London whilst children with a Zip Oyster photocard can travel free if aged 5-10 and for £6 if aged 11-16.
Non-regular travellers in London are reminded that you can use a contactless payment enabled card, including all American Express, most Mastercard or Maestro and some Visa cards issued outside the UK, on the yellow card reader to obtain the Oyster card pay-as-you-go rate which is capped at £11.80 for zone 1-6. Travellers from Gatwick Airport and intermediate stations to Merstham can now use pay-as-you-go payment cards with the price capped at £19. Swanley Station has now been added to travel zone 8 for pay-as-you-go payments.
Group Day Travelcards for groups of ten or more cost £8 per person for zones 1-6 and are available as paper tickets from ticket machines at Tube stations or from London Overground station ticket offices such as West Croydon and Norwood Junction.

Trains
Fast trains from East Croydon to Victoria at 04, 08, 11, 15, 22, 34, 38, 41, 45 and 50 and to London Bridge at 08, 21, 25, 34, 38 and 55 past each hour. Note that some trains are only 4 car units on Saturdays. Thameslink services will not run between Streatham and Herne Hill and Blackfriars and St Pancras International so there will be no direct interchange to the Metropolitan line at Farringdon.
Travellers from West Croydon, Norwood Junction or Crystal Palace can travel on the London Overground to Canada Water for the Jubilee line or continue to Whitechapel for the Hammersmith & City line to Baker Street.

There are direct trains at 10 past the hour stopping at all stations from East Croydon to Wembley Central on Saturdays and this is the cheapest route option (return fare: £7.50 adult, £4.95 railcards, £3.75 child from East Croydon). These are likely to be extremely crowded and transport police may yet make a late decision to not allow them to stop at Wembley Central. Alternatively change at Clapham Junction to a London Overground train at 11, 16 and 46 past the hour and then change at Willesden Junction for the Underground to Wembley Central. Pay-as-you-go payment card users are reminded to touch in on the pink card readers at Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction when changing trains to ensure that the correct fare is applied.
Wembley Park, Wembley Central and Wembley Stadium stations are in travel zone 4.

Due to weekend engineering works, buses will replace trains between:
• Streatham Common and London Bridge via Peckham Rye,
• Alton and Woking,
•Dartford and Plumstead; Dartford and Sidcup; Gravesend and Slade Green.

If drinking around Baker Street an alternate route is to take a Chiltern Rail train from Marylebone which is only about a 150 metres walk from Baker Street. Trains are scheduled at 13 and 46 past the hour, with additional trains expected to run, for the 9 minute journey to Wembley Stadium Station.

Underground -
Central line will be closed between Liverpool Street and Marble Arch. To avoid the crowds at the Victoria Underground Station entrance you can either change at Clapham Junction for a Southwestern Train to Vauxhall and then change for the Victoria line or enter via the Circle or District line concourse and transfer to the Victoria line via the linking escalators.
Bakerloo line trains will not stop at Paddington as platforms are closed until August. Supporters arriving at Paddington by train should take the Circle/ Hammersmith & City line to Baker Street or make the short walk to Edgware Road Station for the Bakerloo line to Wembley Central.
Passengers on the District line from Wimbledon wishing to avoid travel in zone 1can either change at West Brompton for London Overground and then at Willesden Junction for the Bakerloo line to Wembley Central or at Edgware Road for Circle/ Hammersmith & City line to Baker Street. Pay-as-you-go payment card users are reminded to touch in on the yellow or pink card readers when transferring trains at Wimbledon, West Brompton and Willesden Junction to ensure that the correct fare is applied. Travellers who change between the separate stations at Edgware Road for the Bakerloo line will be charged the zone 1 rate.

Coaches –
Depart Selhurst Park at 13:30 and fare is £13. Bookings can be made online or at the box office but 2 for 1 travel vouchers can only be redeemed at the box office. Supporters are requested to park with consideration for local residents and also to ensure that the exit gates and junctions in Holmesdale Road are kept clear. The normal 3 hour time restrictions will apply to the Sainsbury’s car park so this will be unavailable.
