A relative just starved himself to death. He had inherited a degenerative brain disease called Huntington’s Disease from his father, who had inherited it from his father, and from his father before and from his mother before. It wasn’t his fault that he inherited the disease. So he was already in for a pretty bad end to his life.
However, he was also a gay man who had unfortunately been infected with AIDS. The double whammy of a mental illness and another debilitating illness. Life wasn’t very good so he starved himself to death, aged 50.
