Looking for some general feedback and predictions/guidance from any of you IT bods out there.
Reason for asking is that my 15 year old daughter is in the first year of her GCSE's. She is doing extremely well in maths and sciences but also opted for a GCSE in computing on the advice of a teacher. And it turns out, to her surprise, that she enjoys the programming side of things.
She has not really got much of a clue what she wants to do in terms of a career so I thought I might just get some feed back on any directions that the IT industry might be taking and how a young person could best position themselves to take advantage of that.
She is also very sporty and has said that she does not want a career that is primarily office based but I guess most 15 year olds would express a similar preference so don't necessarily take that into account to much but, given her lack of patience with her more geeky younger brother, being stuck in an office full of people having break downs over making a cartoon character jump up and down on a screen might not be her cup of tea.
