Can anyone recommend some good science fiction ?

I've tried reading some Philip K Dick but don't really like his writing style.... But am prepared to read on in most cases.



I don't want to disregard sci fi literature based on movies I've seen, so as I approach the Autumn of my life I want to read some great stories ....



Any recommendations please ?
