With Remembrance Day coming up soon, and reading the thread about the amazing poppy display in London, I thought I'd start a thread to encourage anyone to post any stories about the First World War, Second World War or any war really. This could obviously be passed down from your dad, grandad etc. or could just be an interesting personal story you know of. I'm particularly interested as I never knew either of my grandads so never heard any first-hand accounts myself.
I also think it's a good idea to share stories like these so we never forget what they had to go through and we can appreciate how lucky we are today.
