Rumour: Noni Madueke

Some tenuous reports linking us to ex Spurs youth attacking midfielder Noni Madueke who currently plays for PSV.

He looks a very decent prospect. I remember looking at him earlier in the year as he was included with England Under 21s squad and I couldn't remember who he was.

Type of player I think many would be excited about, myself included, if signed. Would also be a decent understudy for Eze.

The success of EPPP

In 2011 the Elite Player Performance Program was announced, authored by Gareth Southgate. Most of the posts on here at the time were against it and there were protests. It was seen as a way of letting the top teams gobble up the best talent in the country... which they have since done. Some (Chelsea) have even weaponised it as a way around other rules.

But should England win on Saturday then the men's senior team will be in back to back tournament semi finals for the first time since 1968. The team is the second youngest squad at Euro 2020, with talent well beyond the 1st XI.

I'd argue that EPPP is achieving what it was set out to do.

What I'm curious about is whether we think it's caused any damage by doing so? Is it missing out on 'late blooming' players like Kalvin Phillips?

The rules are as follows:

• Bets only allowed on Olympic events.
• Each entrant will have 35 bets.
• Of your 35 bets you will have 20 Bronze bets which will be the normal 10pts, 10 Silver bets which will be 15pts and 5 Gold bets which will be worth 20pts per bet. Please indicate when placing a bet what value it is by putting a B, S or G next to it.
• The Ostapchuk Rule: If one of your bets is positively affected by a competitor getting a positive drug test, it must happen before the penultimate day of competition. This is to make sure everyone has a chance to counterbet.

In previous iterations of the competition, we've had each bettor name an event that everybody has to bet on and in Sochi we had a random event picked every day that everybody had to bet on. I'm happy to take suggestions on ways to spice up this comp.
