Arthur Maurice Cooper, my grandfather served in the Lincolnshire Regiment, from 1904 until he died of his wounds as a POW in Berlin in Jan 1915. Buried in Potsdam, Germany.
He is remembered on the Bawtry War Memorial, South Yorkshire, which was originally positioned on the very busy A638. In 2018, the council decided to move it to Bawtry library to make it more accessible and safer for public access.
On the old memorial he was listed as A. N. Cooper, and thanks to my cousins still living in the area, when the new memorial was erected his name was corrected to A. M. Cooper.
