A poll out by YouGov two days ago is pretty alarming, and shows just what cynicism and disillusionment is out there among the electorate.
It also goes some way to explaining why Labour has not made up sufficient ground yet to be ahead in the Westminster voting intention polling.

28% thinking the Tories who have had ten years of incompetence on display and in practice, are comparatively incompetent, is quite understandable, but 28% also thinking that Labour out of power for the last ten years is also incompetent, is weird.
It also means that around 10% of those 28% are still willing to vote Tory in the Westminster intention vote despite thinking they are incompetent, likewise for Labour. That leaves 8% for either party to convince otherwise and win their vote in the next election. The Tories under Johnson and Cummings, are currently going south in this respect, and I think Starmer will benefit from this over the next four years.
