I am currently trying to get some life insurance however I am finding it slightly difficult due to my previous health issues.
Around three years ago I suffered a TIA due to a hole in the heart, I have since had a heart operation to rectify the hole 1 year ago, however I am still on blood thinning tablets and still currently under the hospital for check ups. I am not sure when I will be signed off.
I also have a back issue, Scheuermann's disease which I was diagnosed with when I was younger!
I was just wondering if any BBS'ers have high risk life insurance or know of companies which would insure high risk patients like myself? I am generally fit and healthy and live a normal life.
I have tried L&G and they have basically told me to wait until I am signed off from appointments before they will underwrite. This makes me uneasy as I have a mortgage and if I was to 'pop my clogs' for any reason, my wife wouldn't have the mortgage etc paid. We do not currently have children so that is one less burden.
I am awaiting a call from AIG insurance later in the hope that they may offer something, so fingers crossed.
