Artists/Bands/Genre's you've started to relisten to again

vendredi 3 février 2017

As above really everybody sometimes goes through that phase of liking one of the above and for some reason or other just lose touch with them/it only to rediscover again later (and like again)

For me 2 things one from a genre which is UK garage/2 step, I used to like it in it's early conception when listening on pirate radio (upfront fm 99.3 which changed to .2) :p around 95/96
I was more a jungle/DNB kid and when I got my first set of decks in the late 90's I would buy both sets of genres.

During the early 00's I knocked it on the head both DJ'ing and garage it had become too commercialised and when going to the record shop (big apple and swag) there would be 30 plates in that week where probably 2/3 at a push were good the rest either churned out crap or produced for radio shite, I never really followed it from that to bassline/grime but had the odd listen.

Now we fast forward to present day and with that great invention YouTube and Virtual DJ I have rekindled my love for garage spending hours going through playlists and building my collection back up (and stuff I never got on record)

Also the prodigy, I loved the experience and jilted generation album but at first hated the fat of the land I hated the new look of the band and the direction the music went from dance to punk/nu metal whatever you want to call it then when I sat down and gave it a proper listen I realised that was the direction it was going in from jilted but just didn't see it at the time but now I love there music again.
