It has amazed me that in an age of modern football where keepers are often employed as sweepers that Joe Hart who is an undoubted talented shot stopper has not worked on his footballing skills.
Even more bewildering that Hart has not spent the past few months (PG was announced months ago as the new manager) trying to improve this aspect of his game.........smacks a little of complacency.........
Time will tell whether PG tactics suit the PL but he has played this possession based game building from the back for years with almost unlimited success so shouldn't be a surprise he now wants to continue this way.
I have read all the criticism of PG in relation to how Hart has been treated but is that really justified? PG has said himself that Hart could become a very efective GK and that his football skills can get to the required level but the problem is that it will takes months and in the results driven world of the PL that is a luxury of time he does not have......
IMHO........unlike the Team GB athletes who work tirelessly at improving their personal performance levels with minimal gains crucial to prolonged success Joe Hart has not and therefore has no one to blame but himself........he has had years to work on the weak areas of his game and he has seemingly failed to do so.
