Hi guys,
I must have posted thousands of threads and posts over the years, but you probably didn’t know that I am also a filmmaker in my spare time!
In a few months, I plan to make a cool sci-fi/action short film called "Rueful Warrior".
It's going to be a lot of fun to make and it will pay homage to a lot of "classic" action films from the 80s.
However, we also have a different agenda.... namely it will help promote women in film and show them holding their own in a male-dominated environment, specifically in 'action' roles. Women are constantly portrayed as the damsels in distress or girlfriend roles and this is still an ongoing issue in mainstream Hollywood, right down to independent cinema. So, we are doing our utmost to right this imbalance.
Also, plot-wise, it deals very much with the plight of war, the futility behind soldiery and the whole feeling of despair and pointlessness that comes with engaging in combat. The film focuses on the hesitation and poignancy that comes with all these range of emotions in a fraught and tense-filled atmosphere.
So, the film's themes have become very topical, especially the latter given the current terrorism we face, and we now feel it's our duty to make this film see the light of day as it's arguably in the public's best interest to see it - given the fact that the power of media is ever great and we want this to have a lasting message.
To cut to the chase, we do currently need funding for it, unfortunately.
We currently have a crowdfunding page that is live:

On this page, you can check out more about the project, watch our awesome pitch video (watch out for the ending ;) ) and contribute if you can!
Perks available too, so check them out! :)
We do understand times are tough financially, but if any one of you lovely people can spare a little something to contribute to this exciting, yet important, project, please do so!
And if you can't contribute any money, then please do pass on this page and spread the word as much as possible!
Thanks guys ... and let's hope we do well this year! :lux:
