Failure to prepare is to prepare for failure, given that we haven't had an effective forward line since we we got promoted and the disastrous second half of the season the current mess leaves much to be debated - the season there is more money than any other time we still can't manage transfers - leaving the most important buys till the end of the window is just poor management - the Chairmen still talking about 'good value'...?
Palace chairman Parish breaks down how transfer window could end To view the link you have to Register or Login
Steve Parish reckons Crystal Palaces transfer activity could come late in the window.
The Eagles lost 1-0 to West Brom on Saturday in their Premier League opener.
And Palace are set to sell Yannick Bolasie to Everton this week in a club-record outgoing deal which is thought to be worth £30million.
The South London club kicked off the window with the signings of Andros Townsend and James Tomkins from Newcastle and West Ham respectively while French international keeper Steve Mandanda was also acquired.
Chairman Parish, talking to talkSPORT, said: We got out of the traps quickly and knew what we wanted to do. But it has stalled a bit more and got blocked up.
It will be one of those windows where someone will go somewhere and open up the whole thing. Unfortunately there will probably be a lot of late business done.
Id be lying if I said it hasnt been a difficult window. It is a little bit of a feeding frenzy with the new [TV] money. No-one wants to look stupid and sell a player for a value and that value is surpassed by a similar player.
But there are bargains. Steve Mandanda we think that is a good deal. Andros, with his release clause, hopefully we have got good value there. And with James, centre-backs are at a premium. Centre-backs and strikers are very important positions in a team.
Weve hopefully done good business. We think we have.
It is a very difficult business to be in. Anybody who tells you they have got the magic source and knows how to do it every time will be lying. It is so inexact so many moving parts.
