With all the focus on our striker shortage i think we are critically short in other areas.
Wickham, our 1st choice striker (at the moment) will play tomorrow, we are clearly looking to bring in more and almost certainly will do so by the end of the month.
Our defence tomorrow looks likely to be:
Ward-Dann-Delaney-Kelly
Its not 1st choice but a defence we put out in a 3 PL games last season (Inc WBA Away). However on the bench we had the likes of Mariappa and Hangeland, anyone want to have a punt at which youth player will be on the bench for defence tomorrow?
Yes we need a couple of strikers but we need defenders too. We surely cannot start the season with what we have. 2 injuries/suspensions and kids are on the bench and defenders are more likely to pick up suspensions. We are not being linked with many either, Opare about the only one although he is a full back i think and could go to the ACN.
With Souare due to go to the ACN, i think they can ask for their players 3 weeks before the tournament which rules him out of boxing day and beyond, possibly for 7 games. 3 of those games will be played before we can register any new players after 31 August.
