Need some words of wisdom.
My daughter has been chosen to represent her Girl Guide district in an organised Guiding trip to South Korea. It will involve them working on an urban renewal project in Busan, exploring the rest of the country and meeting up with their equivalents in South Korea. She is thrilled to have been chosen.
But the Guides have stressed that the onus is on her to raise the money for the trip herself via fund-raising activities and applying for various grants that are available because they see this part of it as being a crucial factor in much of the reasoning behind why such trips are done. I get the impression that they could collectively, if they wanted, just go for a one-off corporate sponsorship deal but they want the girls to have to make the effort themselves.
Any advice on organisations that might be willing to help ? I am in completely uncharted water on this one and whilst she has been given some suggestions along with a group of related organisations who will help out, she wants to spread the net widely.
Also does anybody have experience of dealing with South Korean companies who she might be able to approach ? Are there any definite do's and dont's that she should keep in mind ?
