Hennessey - 8 - Could do nothing with the goal. Goal was living a charmed life for a while but Wayne was doing his part to keep it clean until the goal. Great save from Cleverley and generally caught everything and was decent enough.
Ward - 8 - Thought he played quite well. Was part of a solid backline until the end, and switched to help out on the left at times when Souare was caught out.
Dann - 8 - Good header just when we needed to take some of their sting out of them. Shame it didn't last.
Delaney - 8 - Made a few great interceptions etc. Part of a solid unit today.
Souare - 7 - He wasn't given much help and he was being given a torrid time and it's because of this why I don't mark him lower. That being said, he kept backing off players although he did manage to slow them down until numbers got back to help out with defending.
Puncheon - 7 - I thought he started off well, and I think he had his moments, but I still state the punch has been taken out of him,a nd a few agree with me that Cabaye being the main man this season is why. That being said, I saw signs of Punch being the Punch we're missing from last season.
McArthur - 7 - Helped defend as a solid unit and did his part. Not as good as in other games, but did well considering.
Jedinak - 7 - Should have had a penalty, Did reasonably enough. Marshalled. helped defend. Did reasonably well considering.
Cabaye - 7 - Did better than recently, I thought, but the whole midfield was even really. All did their parts as a midfield unit.
Bolasie - 8 - He had his good moments. He's a threat. He was the main man tonight and I think we maybe rely on him too much atm - especially when we consider not everything will come off - just as was the case tonight.
Wickham - 8 - Saw signs again tonight of the player we hope he becomes. If he'd scored that header, I think it would have been a massive boost and we all would have been saluting him. Against Newcastle, and again tonight, I saw good things from him - Murray-esque, I agree. Just needs a goal or two.
Subs -
Mutch - 7 - I thought he did quite well, to be honest. Brought a renewed energy to the play. Not a write-off yet on that performance.
Gayle - 5 - Big Gayle fan but why was he put on at left-back to help Soaure? That was Pards' fault.
Overall, an excellent effort. Everton were a quality side. They're very solid with some creativity in there. More so than us, if we're honest.
We missed Zaha's tricks.
