Well the table sits at HT with the Leicester, in live table terms, 3 points at the top of the Premiership after 15 games. Hmmmmm.
Even more astounding is that at the beginning of the season their starting 11 today wouldn't have attracted a lot of interest from a top half club in terms of a bid, other than Mahrez and then probably as a calculated gamble based on some immature but exciting performances last year. I think this is probably what most people thought at the beginning of the season.
01 Schmeichel - OK
17 Simpson - not realised his early potential
05 Morgan - struggles at this level
06 Huth - solid old pro with minimal shelf life
28 Fuchs - free transfer - 29 - been around the block but....
26 Mahrez - exciting potential but raw
04 Drinkwater - young, potential but nothing exciting
14 Kanté Booked - new and unknown
11 Albrighton - never realised potential at Villa p Bannan like
23 Ulloa - solid front man but probably stretched in the premiership
09 Vardy - rough, tough to play against but can be contained
Ranieri - surprised he went there but nothing to worry about.
I still think the top clubs are sweating now that they simply aren't going to just fade away.
From Leicester's perspective - 8 points and they are safe. Europe looks a realistic option and that lucky rabbit foot is the best thing they ever bought. :)
