Watford and West Bromwich Albion are interested in a late transfer deadline swoop for Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak. The Eagles midfielder is out with a hamstring injury that he suffered in the Capital One Cup victory over Shrewsbury last week - but that will only sideline him for a couple of weeks. And both Watford and West Brom - managed by ex-Palace boss Tony Pulis - are ready to pay around £3million for the 31-year-old. The Australian international has been central to the Eagles rise from the Championship to becoming an established Premier League outfit. But the competition for a central berth has been ratcheted up by the arrival of Yohan Cabaye from PSG in the summer. Jedinak had to settle for a place on the bench for the opening games of the season - although he did come on as a late substitute in the wins over Norwich and Aston Villa. |
