Hello
Does anyone on the good ship BBS work in the pest control industry or have any recent knowledge? I'd like to know whether rats in the SE London area (I live in Orpington) are generally still susceptable to Difenacom poison?
I've heard that rats are building resistance to even 2nd generation poisons in some areas. Thankfully I only have a problem in my garden. I know you will always have rats enter a suburban garden, but I don't want the buggers nesting. As I'm a keen gardener I can't get rid of all the available cover, there is no food source, but I can't deal with the source of the problem (a derelict garage on nearby private land).
I've had poison down with some early success as we had about 2 weeks rat free (where no bait was taken), but now can see signs of them trying to burrow again. The bait is disappearing every night and as this has being going on for a couple of months in total, now I wonder if they're treating the bait as food!
Any advice would be appreciated.
