Time to develop a new rivalry ?

mercredi 10 décembre 2014

Dare I suggest, and I've been around along while, since the 60's supporting Palace, That it could be a good idea to bring in a 3rd rival seeing as our main ones have more or less disappeared off the horizon. What with Brightons forthcoming demise and Millwall being in the doldrums for ages now. How about focusing on someone doing slightly better than us. My suggestion is Southampton, reasons, They've lost Pompey, They are on the edge of the Palace catchment, which is a bigger deal for Palace than most clubs, probably a bigger deal for Palace than every other London club actually... Plus Palace always and I mean always overwhelm their rivals eventually.

I can remember the Brighton rivalry starting, I was actually there, at that first game in the 3rd division....So I dont think it's beyond the realms of acceptance to start another new one.

All you've got to do, is turn up with as many fans as possible for one particular game and make their home game into a Palace home game. Hard to arrange but dooable... So how about buying crap loads of Southampton home tickets and giving it a go at a given point in time in the not too distant future.

10k Plus away should be enough of unforgettable and unforgiveable experience for them. Not too sure how hard that is to arrange, Is it worth a go ?

Cant really see anyone else fitting the bill. Plus it would be the ultimate insult to Brighton having them ursurped by a new and more relevant rival.

Clubs are a shadow of themselves without a relevant rival.
